A message from Darren
Foster, Western Australia. March 2003
I have some old black & white photographs, from perhaps the 1920s or earlier, with views of Holme. They are fairly bleak, so probably taken in Autumn.
The details are:
1. "looking towards Renauts from school".
2. "this is the main road where the allotments used to be. Six council houses on the opposite side, Ringsted Road, Holme".
3. An old postcard of the church, Holme
4. A photograph of Charlotte Fenton (with two horses), on her father's allotment, with St Mary's in the distant background.
The photographs were sent to my great grandmother, Maria Fenton, who was born in Holme in 1883 and migrated to Australia around 1910. Her sister, Charlotte, remained in Holme
and later King's Lynn. Rumbellow's & Knight's are related families. Harry Frohawk, who appears in one of your old photographs, was executor of the will of my great great grandfather, Stephen Fenton, who died in Holme in 1927. |
